Shami Kebabs

In a pot add:
  • 2-3 lb beef cubes (stew beef works well)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 2 inches of ginger knobs
  • 1 cup chana daal
  • Water enough to cover everything
  • 1 large onion large pieces
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1tbsp cumin powder
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 10 dry round peppers
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Back pepper to taste
Bring water to a boil and continue to cook until water evaporates
Once done & cooked through

Blend/grind in a food processor, add:
  • green chilli (optional if you want it spicer)
  • Fresh cilantro
  • When blending add one or two eggs to help bind
  • Make into patties & fry. Can also fry by dipping in egg but may not need to given the eggs we added in the food processor
This is the perfect item for Brunch. Serve with Paratha & Mango Chutney!
