T&T - Hotdog buns

In a stand mixer, mix with dough hook:

  • 2.5 teaspoons (9g) instant dry yeast 
  • 3.5 cups (525g) bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) granulated sugar 
  • 1.5 (7g)  teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
  • 1 egg 
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2.5 (35g) tablespoons softened unsalted butter


Knead until smooth.

Form into a ball.

place into a greased bowl. 

Cover with plastic wrap & let rise for 1 hr or until doubled


Once risen, cut into 10-12 equal pieces

Form into small tight balls

Let rest for 10 min


Once rested, form into 5-6inch long cylinders 


Now line each of them 1/2 inch apart on parchment lined baking tray. We want them to rise and stick to each other 


Let them rise for 45 min


Once risen, brush with egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp water)


Bake 15-20 min or until golden brown

*optional brush with unsalted butter once baked*
