Tamarind Chutney
you will need imlee “Tamarind” packet (around 1lb)
Soak tamarind in water & remove seeds
Strain to just have juices
In a pot, warm & heat in:
- 1/2 lb Gur (cane sugar) or soft dates if Gur is not available
- Cook until melted
- 4-5 cloves of garlic (crushed finely)
- 1 tsp chilli flakes or 1/2 red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Salt to taste
Optional to add:
- Instead of red chilli, 2-3 fresh green chilli Finely chopped
- 2 tbs Fresh green coriander
