Chicken Jalfrezi

In a Pan/ Wok fry:

  • 1 1/2 capsicum (any colour)
  • 1 medium onion

Once fried, set aside


In the pan/wok, add:

  • 2-3 tbsp oil 
  • 3 tsp garlic/ ginger paste
  • 1 1/2 lb chicken (cubed)

Cook until chicken is cooked through


 Add:

  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Tumeric
  • 1.5 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 2/3 jar of tomato puree about 440ml (alternatively use 3 heaping tsps of tomato paste & add more water)
  • Splash of water

Cook until sauce is thick then add:

  • Fried capsicum & onion
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 green chillies
  • A few Ginger slices
best served with white basmati rice
